About the Role:
Job Description: Network Solutions Architect/Voice Architect
Overview:
- Its a PART TIME role - 80hrs/Month.
- Participate in development of architectural strategy, including technology standardization and modernization of data centers, enterprise and disaster recovery of network infrastructures.
- Utilizes best practices and systems analysis techniques to design networks to support VoIP, Video, media streaming and other applications.
- Align architectural strategy with business objectives.
- Co-opt operational & engineering team members in the strategy, by interfacing at a technical level.
- R&D advanced technologies to enhance & evolve core network and unified communications infrastructure used across systems and services.
- Stay current with developing technologies and predict impact of changing technologies.
- Continually find ways to improve cost performance.
- Create reference architectures and strategic roadmaps for VoIP, Video, media streaming, network convergence technologies, and solution architectures for various infrastructure initiatives to ensure scalability and performance.
- Provide technical leadership to a team of talented engineers, working with management team to drive completion of Architecture vision.
- Investigate, conduct proof of concept and generate recommendations on key third-party components, such as network, security & voice infrastructure technologies.
- Continually plan to ‘harden’ and expand the network and make recommendations to management on desirable additions and development.
- Assist in the troubleshooting of highly complex network problems and act as a high level escalation point for Network Operations Engineers.
- Ensure system availability, redundancy, security, and performance of network equipment and functions.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in engineering data center and IP backbone networks in a multi-vendor multi-protocol environment.
- 7+ years’ experience in a senior level architecture role engaged with IP network technologies including BGP/OSPF routing, L2/L3 switching, QoS, MPLS, IP VPN, and network-security in large scale multi-site enterprise environments.
- 5+ years’ experience designing networks for a VoIP, Video and streaming media provider.
- Experience in implementing CISCO IP switched networks & routing.
- Experience with Network Sniffer Technologies and Capture Tools and Network Monitoring/Management systems required.
- Experience in an architecture or engineering role engaged with voice communication technologies including IP PBX, softphone, unified messaging, audio conferencing, SIP Trunking and Session Border Controller, enterprise mobility, E911, IP contact center and VoIP security.
- Understanding of cloud computing services and virtualization, and its use for voice, video, media and unified communications.
- Understanding of network-security architecture best practices.
- Knowledge of industry trends with next-generation converged network technologies and service deployment models.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to resolve operations issues.
Preferred
- University degree in the field of computer science or Information Technology.
- Experience with Fortinet Fortigate, Fortiswitch, Fortiap, and ForticlientEMS
- Experience with Asterisk, Free Switch, Kaimilio (Open SIP).
- Experience with tools such as Wireshark, SIPp.
- Experience with configuring F5 load balancer and iRules.
- Experience with AWS services.
Language Skills
- Proven leadership ability with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working with a variety of constituents within and outside of IT to drive cohesiveness while ensuring that the architectural direction is achieved.
- Must have excellent presentation skills. Should be able to effectively interact with a variety of internal and external constituencies.
Certifications (preferred)
Location : Dallas TX (Hybrid)
Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $150,000 to $180,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
